Swagbucks to the rescue!!!

So I haven't been so active with my swagbucks account as I should be.  If you haven't tried it yet go to my swagbucks sign at the right side of my blog and click to sign up for free.  Earn swagbucks for random searches, daily polls, NOSO, surveys and swagbucks t.v.  Sometimes you can also find a swag code to redeem as well!!

Well I finally had enough swagbucks to earn a paypal gift in my paypal account.  Signing up for a paypal account is free too! www.paypal.com  With that money I purchased 3 gift certificates for myself and to add to some gift ideas for Christmas.  I went to http://www.restaurant.com/ and used a promo code from www.retailmenot.com .  This helped me get the certificates for even cheaper than they were listed.  You can also use your paypal to pay for things online through places like www.kohls.com.  So at first I was definitely sceptical of this swagbucks thing but after redeeming some cash to put towards some great purchases I'm hooked and you should be too!!!

Only 2 days left until Black Friday!!

I don't know about you but I am just as excited about shopping black friday deals as I am eating some good turkey!!!  Have you mapped out your plan yet? Got your coupons together??  So far I am half done with mine.  I have found most of my black friday coupons from Kitty at http://www.coupondivas.com/  She will hook you up with the necessary Kohls, Bath and body works etc. coupons that you need.  It is very difficult to find good coupons for this amazing day of shopping, because the discounts are already so steap.  But it can be done.  You can google your favorite store to search, check out some great blogs like the one I posted above and get your paper inserts!!  I did get lucky and find a Toys R Us coupon in a magazine that was for $10 off a $75 purchase!! and it doesn't expire until after Black friday!!! Yay.
My kids need jeans, Pj's and some random toys as well. But I am shopping for myself too!

So far I will be doing two rounds of shopping one in the evening and another early in the morning.  If the lines are way long in the evening I might not make it back home for a break!!  This is crazy I know, but I enjoy it ; )
Frustrated cause the ads haven't officially been released yet? I was too. Check this out, it will help!!
Good luck!  Go get your shop on!

Something I like to call "Shopping in your closet!"

We all want new stuff right?  Well what we sometimes forget about are those cute little treasures left in the back of your closet that you haven't seen or used in a while.  Now most often this idea works best with accessories like belts, boots, scarfs, jewelry, jackets and PURSES!!!!   So anyway, I needed to switch out my purse that I had been wearing around for a while.  Mostly I just had to clean it out, it was a wreck and thought I might as well pick a new purse from my stash.  I picked my favorite that I bought about three years ago now.  Feels like new to me now though because it has been so long since I used it and it has stayed in good condition.  As it should for the amount I spent on it!!  Don't get me wrong, when I bought this cute piece of coach I was not yet a couponer BUT I was still a bargainer and so I bought it at a Coach Outlet store on double clearance sale.  So I paid a little less than half of it's original price.  (which is still a lot to me!)  But I am thoroughly enjoying it now : )              So go on, go through your closet, drawers and jewelry box, you may rediscover a sassy treasure ; )

November's "Thankful" Sassy Savings so far...

I seriously raked in some great after Halloween savings at Walmart!!!!  I bought two costumes for my kids for next year's Halloween and only spent $12!!!!!  Way less than the regular price of just one of them.  I have already packed them away with my Halloween decor for next year's trick-or-treating excitement!!!

Infant Toddler Boys' Outerwear Circo® Ink 4 In 1 Heavy-Weight Jacket 2TNext, I bought my ever growing son a coat at K mart.  You may think this is last minute on my part but trust me it isn't.  I had 2T "hand me down" coat from his cousin washed and ready to wear, good as new.  But my little man needed a 3T!!!! Yikes, so off to K mart we went for their 40% off deal on all outerwear.  I found a great coat including comfy matching mittens and detachable hood for only 19.99!!!   My daughter's coat was an absolute steal for $0, because of a generous neighbor whose daughter had outgrown her Columbia coat!!  SCORE!  Now mommy is happy and the kids are warm ; )  It feels good to save money and still have everything you need.

Sugarland CD only $10.15 at Borders

Incredible Machine I recieved an e mail from Borders Bookstore because I have a rewards card with them and have registered my e mail address.  They e mailed me a 40% off any cd coupon good til today.  I have recieved them before and never taken advantage of them before but my daughter and I love the new Sugarland song "stuck like glue", and whenever we get in the car she asks me to put the song on, which is impossible if you don't have it.  You just have to hope you hear it on the radio.  Well with my new coupon I decided to take her and get the newly released cd.  It just came out a day or so ago.  It's original price was 16.99 and I bought it for only $10.15.  Lucky for me I am one of the few that still read actual books and listen to "ancient" CD's.  I do not have a kindle or IPOD and do not see myself owning one in the near future.  So I will still be doing my shopping at Border's etc.  and taking advantage of the great new deals since everything now has gone digital via internet. etc.  If you are like me register your email and get in on their great coupon savings.!!
On a side note, I did browse their kids section and they had some great bargain prices especially when it came to the kids kits and crafts and baby/toddler books.  I will be in there next month for christmas gifts for sure! : )

I'm already thinking about Black Friday Shopping!!!

So I know it is only October but I am super pumped about the possibility of great finds and sales for Black Friday shopping!!  I think my husband has to work that day so I'm probably only gonna go out for a couple hours of the early morning before he has to leave for work but I at least want to hit Target or Walmart or Kohls!!  before he has to leave for work.  I don't know what store I will try to get to but I found a site that you can register your e mail address with and they will notify you when the Black Friday ads you are interested in are released!!!!  Super cool huh? : )  So go here to get your updates!

Men's Nivea bodywash only .97 cents at walmart!!

Nivea For Men, Cool, Hair and  Body Wash, 16.9-Ounce Bottle (Pack of 3)Sunday's paper had a high value, $3.00 off coupon for men's Nivea body wash.  They are priced the best at Walmart for only $3.97.  So that means you get them for only .97 cents!!  I bought two because I had bought two papers and had two coupons.  I did do a price comparison with CVS theirs is priced at over $4.00.  So definitely go to Walmart for this deal.  Take advantage of this fast because there were only a couple left at my local walmart.

More walmart matchups!
Pedia Sure Sidekicks 4 pack 4.97, 2.00 off from Sunday's paper
.97 cent gain dish detergent.  1.00 off from a previous weeks paper makes this free + .03

5.00 off coupon for Beauty and the Beast

Beauty and the Beast (Three-Disc Diamond Edition Blu-ray/DVD Combo in Blu-ray Packaging)Go to www.disneymovierewards.com and register with their program to earn points and receive special offers.  I just got a $5.00 coupon off of a beauty and the beast combo pack, in my e mail inbox!! Perfect for the holidays!!

saved $23.00 at CVS!

Pampers Baby Dry Diapers, Size 3 (16-28 Lbs), Economy Plus Pack, 204 Diapers (Packaging May Vary)I needed diapers and body wash and had some great CVS coupons.  First I had a CVS coupons for $5.00 off $25.00 purchase, then a $2.00 value of extra care bucks (same as cash at cvs).  I received my $5.00 coupon from www.cvs.com e mail newsletter.  You can register with them online and put your CVS card number into their system and they will e mail you coupons and when you login online you can "redeem your green" as they put it, and get your extra care bucks.  So those first two coupons take $7.00 off of a $25.00 purchase right off the bat.  They had Pampers diapers 20 packs 8.99 ea.  I had two pampers coupons, one for 1.75 off and one for 1.00 off.  Next I used my soft soap body wash coupon for 75 cents off.  And the best part of that was that their soft soap body wash was BOGO!!! so for only 4.29 I got two large sized soft soap body washes!! I won't need them now for a while! : )  They also had my husbands SURE deodorant on sale for only $1.99.  And my little girl with me wanted a pack of candy for 1.50.  So I spent only $20.00 for all of this! YAY and at the end of my receipt it said YOU SAVED $23.00 THIS VISIT (with sales and coupons!)

Great coupon site!!

Softsoap Moisturizing Body Wash, Pomegranate & Mango, 18-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 3)This is a great website to go to for various coupons on toothbrushes, toothpaste, body wash, hand soap and even deodorant.  I was looking for a body wash coupon and stumbled upon it.

Huggies coupons! printing more than one good coupon!

Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers, Size 4, 140-CountIf you go to http://www.coupons.com/ you can get a 3.00 off coupon for any 2 packs of Huggies diapers.  I thought this is a good one especially if I can later find a Target store coupon for some huggies to stack with it!! I loooove doing that.  Another thing is that if you like this coupon you can print it more than once just refresh the page after printing, go back to the coupon page it was on and select to print again, it will let you do that till they say you have reached your limit.  I looove this too!!!
Another way to get multiple GOOD coupons is to have more than one e mail address.  (or use your husbands LOL)  Cause sometimes all they want is a new place to send some info/special offers and future coupons in exchange for a their coupon.  I have done this with lactaid.  My son is lactose intolerant and so I usually buy walmarts brand if I can't get a lactaid  coupon in the inserts or online.  http://www.lactaid.com/ will give you up to two or three coupons per e mail you register with them.  And a few months later you can redo it and they will give you more again.
Good luck!

New consignment finds!!

Hi!!  It has been a great month for finding consignment options both for selling and buying gently used items at great prices!!! First I found the Totswap.  You can check them out at their website http://www.totswap.net/ or if you do not live in the area they "consign" throughout than you can google words such as consignment, children's consignment shops or stores and add your town's name i.e.  "consignments frederick, md".  This way you can join in on the fun of consigning too!
As I was suggesting earlier, the Totswap is a consignment system that "travels" from site to site.  I believe they rent out or find new places each season to hold their sales.  They run on weekends and the consignors, that would be you and I, register with them online or by mail.  You will find that information on their website.  Once yo are registered and receive your consignors number you can round up all of your great kids/maternity clothes, decor, items etc.  and put them into the online tagging system.  Once you are finished you print out your tags, place them on your items and drop them off at your allotted drop off time/place.  I did participate and I made $94.00!!!  Not a huge amount but very good for little work and help getting rid of some unneeded items.  You can also shop there for kids clothes, toys, furniture, room decor, costumes etc.  All in ll it was a great experience and when they come my way again in the spring I will participate again!!

My next find was of Plato's closet.  You can go to http://www.platoscloset.com/ to find one near you.  They are a consignment shop for the teen's and twenty's for hip new styles.  They are very picky about what they accept and they pay you on the spot for your items.  Which is different than most consignment stores where you have to wait for your items to sell in order to receive a check.  There will be on opening up in Frederick md. soon and I will be checking it out ASAP!!!

Swagbucks!

swagbucks is probably a website you have heard of by now by some bloggers and such and I have finally started participating in it.  You sign up for free and earn swagbucks for searching the internet, shopping online, referring friends, taking daily polls and surveys or by just signing on.  I have only been doing this for a week or two, so I am definetly not a pro at this for sure but it is fun to try out something new.  With the swagbucks that you earn, you can redeem them for prizes such as giftcards and random merchandise, the more you earn and save the better a prize you can redeem.  Super fun and easy!  My goal is to earn a $50 amazon gift card to put towards some christmas shopping.  Fingers crossed, that I earn enough in that amount of time! LOL we'll see : )

Huggies coupons!

If you are like me and in need of diapers I have a great coupon match-up for ya!  I'm going to use this one myself.  If you go to http://www.target.com/ or http://www.cvs.com/ you can get $2 off and $3 off coupons on big packs of huggies.  At Giant Eagle they are selling Huggies diapers jumbo packs for 8.99 ea and if you buy two they give you 3.00 off on your next purchase.  Kind of like reward bucks at CVS!!  So That would be 5 and even potentially 6.00 off your diapers purchase! You may be saying HUH?? 2+3=5!!  BUT usually if you go to both of these websites or just refresh and go back to the coupons again they'll let you print a certain coupon more than once until they decide you have reached your coupon print limit (it will be flagged on the bottom of the coupon if you have)  So if you use two of the 3.00 off coupons plus get 3.00 back at checkout its like BOGO Diapers!
I'm going to go and score this deal today and get my free milk with the coupon I got the last time I went through the check out. : )

Holy Frugal Chickens!!

soo.. I have been really neglecting my blog!! sheesh.  I guess moving will do that to you. LOL anyway. Since moving to a new town I have had to investigate new shopping strategies, stores etc.  So I have decided that wal mart is and always will be a staple in my shopping needs and Giant Eagle has now replaced my previous Martins trips.  And then throw in the occassional Target trips with coupon stacking and Im in frugal heaven. LOL

So far I have found a few great deals...at GE I bought a whole chicken for 99 cents a lb.  That served as dinner along with a 1.50 french loaf from wal mart that toasted up oh so good in the oven.  And a side of rice that only cost 1.00.  The left over chicken served as great sandwiches for lunch the following day!!  Another chicken tip is buying split chicken breasts, they are usually cheaper per lb because then you have to do all the work to make them boneless and skinless if you so wish.  or you can stuff good herbs, seasonings and marinades underneath the skin and bake.

I also found a family pack of beef for 1.79lb fr 80% lean.  I made bbq meatballs in the crockpot and had that for dinner and lunch twice.  Yeah left overs are not always fun but you can re invent them, making yourself a meatball sandwich or pairing them with a salad, carrot slices or crackers and cheese.  Whats not to love about BBQ really!!??  My husband loves everything BBQ!

I also found apple and eve frutables on sale for 2.00 ea for an 8 pack of the juice boxes. I had a dollar off coupon from the sunday inserts and bought eight juice boxes for 1 buck!! CRAZY
And to top of a great shopping trip I recieved a coupon at checkout for a FREE Gallon of milk on my next visit.  SCORE!!!   so Giant Eagle is my new best friend....

Oh and had to get cars inspected for living in MD and found a coupon to use on both cars for half of the price of the leading inspection places. If I had not shopped around it would have cost me double easily!!!  Major lesson here is to look through those coupon envelopes you get in the mail just for having an address!

Target coupon stacker!

If you are like me, you want to save anywhere you can and that includes the monthly bills.  One of which is fantastically easy to manipulate is your power bill.  One way to do this is to buy the new energy efficient light bulbs.  I know when they first came out with them I thought it was a bit of nonsense.  Especially when the old ones were soo cheap and easy to buy.  Well I have started replacing my most frequently used bulbs with the new ones and have seen a difference in my bill.  I hope to eventually have them throughout the house.  So when I saw the Target, GE light bulb $1.50 off coupon at http://www.target.com/ I was curious to see if I would be able to find a manufacturers coupons to stack on this $1.50 off Target coupon.  To my excitement I found one, actually two!  I googled g e light bulbs and found the home page, www.GELighting.com  !!!  Then  all I had to do was scroll down and click on coupons/special offers.  They will let you print this one twice and you can also print the target coupon twice as well.  So now we can save money to save even more on your power!  Good luck!

CVS deals!

So...If I would have shopped yesterday at my local CVS I would have found the following : )
(note to self:  shop saturdays from now on cause all the good stuff goes fast!)

Colgate 2/ $6.98:  1.00 off ISP (in sunday's paper)
Cottonelle BOGO: 50 cents or 1.00 off ISP
Sobe Life water 77 cents: BOGO coupon at http://www.sobe.com/ (click on the bottom left to vote for you fav flavor at target, redeem your BOGO coupon
Kellogg's Pop Tarts 2/$4: 1.00 off wyb2 ISP
Welch's 64 oz juice 2-$6 , 1.00 extra buck on 2:  75cents off ISP
Kellogg's Nutri Grain bars 2/$5: 1.00 off ISP
Gillette ProGlide 9.97, $5 reward bucks: 4.00 off PWP (previous week's paper)
Suave deoderant 4/$5: 1.00 off wyb2
Suave hair care 3/$5, 1.00 off wyb3
Head and Shoulders 4.99, 2.00 reward bucks: BOGO coupon ISP

So when I went into my CVS today I thought I was gonna score most of these and do two transactions the first paying for the second with the reward bucks.  But almost all of the great buys were GONE!  no sobe, no deoderant, no razor etc.  so I did go ahead and get the head and shoulders for my husband BOGO and used that 2.00 reward towards my second purchase of Ibuprofen and childrens tylenol which we also needed.  Next time I will shop on Sat! hmph : /

A coupon organizer is super essential to helping you along with using the correct coupons on the appropriate deals and discounts in the store.  I don't know how many times I have been searching for a specific coupon only to find it at the bottom of my purse.  Finally I broke down and decided to buy one of these handy little holders.  I found mine at Walmart a few months back but you can buy them almost anywhere and online.  They are fairly cheap.  You can find some really fancy ones or very simple like the one pictured here.

June 2010

Well, this month I have definitely not been on my game as far as posting my best deals and finds. And to anyone who may be actually looking at this blog, I apologize : ) My husband is in the midst of beginning a new job, my daughter is having a tonsillectomy soon and my one year old son is into anything and everything. Therefore I don't have much brain power left over for much else other than cleaning, cooking and all those necessary, monotonous tasks that seem to be unending with a family of four. The best part of this month was the week at the beach. It was great to see the kids on the boardwalk together and to experience the warm sea air with them. By the end of July and August I will be back in full force with match ups, coupon stacking and CVS deal tracking ;)
Now that I got that out of the way, two new things to get into right now are Aeropostale' $5 Tee's and Tanks and Payless flip flops BOGO FREE! Gotta love that! And speaking of the beach, you can still use coupons on your vacations just google your location and put in coupons and you should find a few, especially if you know the restaurants you want to visit. Check out their websites to see if and when kids eat free, their specials and any possible printable online coupons. It's worth it to save a buck or two. Happy Sassy Saving!

Use different zip codes!!!

Yeah that's right, when you log onto your favorite coupon sites and browse which may suit your next shopping trip best, sometimes it helps to use another zip code to search for a few different coupons. For example www.hip2save.com posted that there was a great .75 cents off coupon for gold fish grahams at www.coupons.com. Well under my zip code there was no such coupon but under the one she suggested, 90210 up it came!! And the best part is I can take it to Martin's/Giant and they will double that to 1.50 so I'll probably buy it for just a few cents!! Hope this tidbit helps and thank you HIP2Save!!

New Savings

Well last week was a bust with the coupon matchups and I think this weekend is as well. Now if you have a great stockpile you are doing fine but if you are still "stocking up" it's rough, at least if you are getting the paper that I have bought the last two weeks. Not many coupons at all. So here are a few shopping trip examples of what savings I have been sifting out lately.

Last weekend I went to CVS and needed infants ibuprofen. I do buy store brand and have never had a recall and from what I understand they were exempt from the latest children's medicine recall. (please correct me if I am wrong!!) Anyhoo as all you mom's know all too well the infant ibuprofen can be a bit pricey, even the store brand so with this in mind I browsed the ad to see what would make it cheaper for me and this is what I found. Aussie hair products were 2.99, with 2.00 extra bucks in reward. I had a 2.00 off coupon. So I purchased my Aussie conditioner and only paid out 99 cents and received 2.00 back. With this I purchased my 4.97 infants ibuprofen, the CVS brand and paid 2.97. Add that up and it is a whole dollar cheaper than if I would have bought the medicine alone!!! CRAZY Soo... if you need something that is not usually on sale and has no coupons there are ways to shop and have something else pull the cost down for you. Another example is one from today, I went to CVS for makeup, I was out of my CoverGirl foundation and I had a 1.00 off coupon. I also needed Pantene's new shampoo and conditioner for specific hair types, this I had a 2.00 off and it earned me 2.00 back. I purchased my Pantene products first and then put my 2.00 extra bucks and my coupon towards my second purchase for my makeup. And there you go!! more savings for what I needed.

My Martins trip today went great as well. If you got your weekend paper you would have seen the two store coupons for both festive cups and Sara lee rolls. Making the festive cups only 50cents and the rolls only 1.50. Next I had a .50 cents off any colgate toothpaste, some of the Colgate toothpastes were only 1.00 and my .50 cents was doubled to equal FREE. I also had a .75cents off any Colgate toothbrush and found a dora toothbrush for 2.50 which after doubling only made it a dollar. And Last Purina cat chow for 3.89 with 1.00 off and Betty Crocker microwaveable cake bowls were 1.59 and I had a .75 cents off coupon which doubles and makes them only .9cents!!
My next post will include my favorite websites to find freebies and great coupons!!!
Happy Sassy Shopping!!

Sewing up some Sassy Savings ideas!!

Whenever spring hits, it is a time of getting rid of the old and bringing in the new, especially with clothing. And now that it is summertime, if you are like me there is still a lot of reorganizing that can be done. Well as you and I know all too well, especially in today's world, it can be tough for a family to provide new clothing every time the season changes. Now I am not saying never to buy any new clothes, that would be sad and depressing. I am just learning how to supplement that idea by reusing what is not already too worn. A few weeks ago I decided to hem some of my daughters fall clothes to meet her spring/summer needs. Mostly all Pj's I borrowed my Mom's sewing machine and went to work. I first cut legs and arms off of the shirts and bottoms to make shorter sleeves and shorts. Then I folded them under and sewed it into place and TA DA!! New summer PJ's that cost me ZERO!! Yay!! I did this with a pair of her worn out pants as well they were too short and had become very worn in the knees. These will not be her "Sunday best" shorts to go out and dress nice in, but they are great for a day around the house playing in the sandbox and going for a neighborhood walk.

Another adventure I took on was making my own slip cover for my daughter's t.v. chair in the living room. She has a small chair, just her size, that she has had for a few years now and has become stained from the random juice and cookie spill. Therefore after much scrubbing with no progress, I had decided to take a trip to the fabric section of Walmart and pick out the material I thought suited our living room best. Then I went to work with no pattern, pins or directions just my eyes, hands and Mom's sewing machine. It is not perfect by any means but It does the job.

You can take this idea virtually anywhere around the house I suppose. I have heard of people making curtains out of sheets, putting patches on the knees of play jeans and making new accent pillows to brighten up an old couch. Whatever you may think your house is in need of, there is a way to save by doing it yourself. Now I don't propose that we all turn into "Little House on the Prairie", cute show but no thanks. But it can be fun to get creative and look for an alternative idea to just going out and buying brand new. : )

Two cheap and Sassy ideas for kids

So the first idea for my four year old that I came up with this week was to let her "cook" in her kitchen with some dry cereal. She is always wanting to use water and that just gets EVERYTHING way too wet. So I suggested cereal. Now this may seem like a waste but if you think about the ends of the cereal boxes when they are almost but not quite gone and no one really wants to pour out a bowl cause it wouldn't fill it up enough. Yeah that's the stuff ya give them. So I had some random bags of about a half a cup each of old POPs and Smacks cereal and this kept my oldest happy for about an hour!! YAY

The second and last idea was for a birthday present. We had bought some brown wrapping paper to decorate ourselves. This is usually cheaper than the fancy stuff and can be found at the dollar tree. Well I saved my money to spend it on the present and had my four year old decorate some paper to wrap it up in. We also cut out a card, she decorated that as well and I cut some strips and gently swiped the blade of my scissors down them a few times to get them to curl. This added the finishing touch of the bow and TADA! Pretty present, not a lot of money spent. You may also use the funny paper or even left over tissue paper to wrap a present and best of all the next time you receive presents in pretty bags, KEEP THEM and reuse them. As long as they aren't all crunched up they will be good as new and you are saving money so that you can put more towards the present AND you are helping the environment by reusing and recycling! Happy Sassy Saving to YOU!

Best CVS purchase yet!! (this weeks matchups too)

I have finally started to get the hang of the whole CVS bucks, and have finally begun to roll them over. Yesterday I had my best buy yet. I ran to CVS with a plan in hand. I had all of my matchup coupons, 1 stacker, and the sales ad. My plan was to make two purchases in order to have the first purchase pay for the second. If this sounds confusing I am going to put a video together later, when another one of these great scenarios come my way, hopefully again next week! So here is what I did.

I had $5 worth in extra bucks from the previous week when I stacked a CVS pampers coupon on a manuf. coupon on top of the great sale. This transaction rewarded me with $5, which I kept for my next shopping trip which ended up to be yesterday. I used my $5 extra bucks and only had to pay 4.00 of my own cash for the first purchase of the small group of items to the left. I had a coupon for U by Kotex from http://www.cvs.com/ and a manf. coupon from a previous weeks paper, and the U by Kotex purchase earned me $1EB. Then I had a coupon for pro clinical colgate whitening toothpaste which earned me $2 in EB (extra care bucks) and the Soft soap body wash was on sale for 2.99 and earned me another $2 in EB. I only paid $4 cash and received another $5 total in EB's!! I used 4 of the EB's to pay for my second transaction which was a tube of Colgate Total for 2.44 and had a coupon for a 1.00 off from Sunday's paper and a Buy one get one free coupon for Hershey bars, also from this Sunday's paper. But the Hershey bars were buy 2 get one free at CVS for 1.99 ea. so my coupon paid for one, CVS paid for one and I paid for one. And I still have 1EB left over after only spending $4!! So its like I bought all that for only $3!! Cool! If anyone has any questions on how to do this themselves please ask me, I would love to help!

Matchups!!

Sassy Saving at Christmas tree shops to decorate your home!!

I love the Christmas Tree Shops store! It is an inexpensive way to make your home look like you spent waaay more on decorating than you actually did. A lot of my newer decor items around the house have come from there. And let me tell you they have been all less than $5!! Now that doesn't mean they have only things $5, and under, I am just a super Cheapo shopper and most times, when I am buying accessories I only buy under a certain price range. So here is the deal with Christmas Tree shops. They have great decor, indoor and outdoor, toys, hair and body products, some household and food supplies and almost any random item you may be looking for in a lower price range than the average store will supply. You can visit their site http://www.christmastreeshops.com/ to get an idea of what kinds of things they have that you may be interested in. I have bought gifts and home accessories, snacks and even shampoo there. Best of all THEY TAKE COUPONS!!! And you know how I feel about COUPONS!!! I have some photos posted of just a few of the items I have purchased from their store in the past. When I last browsed their store, they had some great gardening and outdoor furniture and lighting accessories. Even my 1yr old son Owen loved talking to the table umbrellas with strung lighting. LOL anyhoo, this is an awesome store, so if you want to shnazz up your home indoors and out, get in the car, take a ride and get your Sassy Shopping on at the Christmas Tree Shops!!

Two new tidbits for this weeks shopping trips!

Thanks to Kitty at www.coupondivas.com, I found that CVS is giving 1 xtra buck per green tag purchase this week and that tag is only 99cents. So it pays for itself. Get yourself a reusable bag and use this tag every time you shop and on every fourth visit earn another xtra CVS buck.

Also found on www.hip2save.com that when you have a BOGO coupon and you use it on a BOGO sale, both items are FREE! Yes! This is because the manufacturer pays for one and the store pays for the other. Coolness. Happy Sassy Shopping!

Walmart deals!

On my crazy journey to Walmart this week with two kids, I found a couple of good deals along the way. One was a coupon matchup from Sunday's paper of the Hershey's pieces candy. They are on sale for 2.50 and there is 1.00 off coupon from the paper inserts. The other good finds are for drinks. If you are a Pepsi lover like me you'll want to grab their 24 packs for 5.00! Which is a great price and will save you money. Regularly they are $6 + and then I usually opt for a few of the four packs that they sell in the middle isle flats. Cause that will save you 1.00 per 12/24 pack, whichever you prefer. And lastly JUICE!! The great value brand juice, 96 fl. oz. on sale for only $1.50. They are usually $2.00 a jug. You can't do better than this at Sam's. So since I forgot about ten things on my trip to Walmart yesterday I will be heading back for what I need and might grab an extra Juice or two on my way, cause my kids love their JUICE!!!

Cheap Sassy Snack and drink options.

Hey all! It has been a long week for me with a teething tot and active four year old but I am back in the swing of things and ready to share more of my favorite frugal tidbits. When it comes to drinks and snacks these are daily essentials that can add up quickly. Especially if you have a family to feed. As for the drinks, other than water, the cheapest options are iced tea and Kool Aid. They are very inexpensive. Kool aid has always been a few cents per packet and if you buy the store brand of tea, or find a great sale + coupon your iced tea is cheap as well. I usually go for the naturally decaffeinated tea so that I can drink a glass any time of day and not be wide awake at night. We love to drink it anytime of year. You can make it yourself and set a jug outside in the sun, brew a batch on the stove, or buy an iced tea maker at your local store. I found a Mr. Coffee iced tea maker, pictured above, for around $20 at Walmart and it works great. We go through a pitcher per day so I make iced tea almost every day. It is healthier than soda and a good alternative to water.

As for cheap snack options it is easy to forget about the quick snack size cookie and muffin mixes available in the baking isle. The Betty Crocker mixes usually have many coupons out for at least 40 cents off and if you buy them at Martin's / Giant they will double your coupon and make it a few cents cheaper than their generic version. The same goes for the muffin mixes as well. Another great source of cheap snacks for my family is the clearance bakery rack. Yeah at first I was hesitant but if you check the dates they are usually not yet expired, just close to the sell by date, which means they still have a while till they are no good. We love the vanilla loaf cake slices at Walmart, their sugar cookies and cinnamon swirl bread are great too. I have also found some bakery items on sale just because of a couple of the cookies were cracked. So it is always good to at least give it a look. Good luck and Happy Sassy Snacking!

Break time

Hello all, I have decided to take this week off from coupon matchups, I will be back next week with all the best ones. My husband is away for work and my little one is getting four teeth at once so I'm beat.

But on a side note, here are a couple of good deals, hints to get into this week!

Join Kmart's rewards card program and earn rewards, discounts and get in on their coupon doubling when they post them. I know that last week they doubled coupons up to two dollars in value, up to five coupons per purchase, per day. This meant you could go in once a day for the whole week and take advantage of the coupon doubling!! Super great deal. They will have this again but I'm not sure when.

Martin's has Purdue chicken breast BOGO
Walmart has GM cereals for 2.88 per box, I had a coupon for 1.00 off wyb3. Not the best deal I've gotten when buying cereal but pretty good for a 16oz box.

Hope everyone has a great week sassy shopping and I'll see ya on monday morning with the newest local matchups!!
