Holy Frugal Chickens!!

soo.. I have been really neglecting my blog!! sheesh.  I guess moving will do that to you. LOL anyway. Since moving to a new town I have had to investigate new shopping strategies, stores etc.  So I have decided that wal mart is and always will be a staple in my shopping needs and Giant Eagle has now replaced my previous Martins trips.  And then throw in the occassional Target trips with coupon stacking and Im in frugal heaven. LOL

So far I have found a few great deals...at GE I bought a whole chicken for 99 cents a lb.  That served as dinner along with a 1.50 french loaf from wal mart that toasted up oh so good in the oven.  And a side of rice that only cost 1.00.  The left over chicken served as great sandwiches for lunch the following day!!  Another chicken tip is buying split chicken breasts, they are usually cheaper per lb because then you have to do all the work to make them boneless and skinless if you so wish.  or you can stuff good herbs, seasonings and marinades underneath the skin and bake.

I also found a family pack of beef for 1.79lb fr 80% lean.  I made bbq meatballs in the crockpot and had that for dinner and lunch twice.  Yeah left overs are not always fun but you can re invent them, making yourself a meatball sandwich or pairing them with a salad, carrot slices or crackers and cheese.  Whats not to love about BBQ really!!??  My husband loves everything BBQ!

I also found apple and eve frutables on sale for 2.00 ea for an 8 pack of the juice boxes. I had a dollar off coupon from the sunday inserts and bought eight juice boxes for 1 buck!! CRAZY
And to top of a great shopping trip I recieved a coupon at checkout for a FREE Gallon of milk on my next visit.  SCORE!!!   so Giant Eagle is my new best friend....

Oh and had to get cars inspected for living in MD and found a coupon to use on both cars for half of the price of the leading inspection places. If I had not shopped around it would have cost me double easily!!!  Major lesson here is to look through those coupon envelopes you get in the mail just for having an address!
Happy Sassay Saving!
