What to do when you don't have a coupon.

If you are like me, after you get in the habit of consistent couponing you will at times suffer what I call "coupon guilt". This is when you need or want something for which you have no coupon or amazing sale. So what do you do? After I have exhausted all papers and websites I give up and go to the dollar store or even dollar tree! Oh yeah they are a great discount store without all the work of unraveling the latest greatest "stackable coupons" and "reward points" etc. Just going in you know that you will leave with a great price on something you needed. Some of the main items I look for at the dollar store when I do not have a great coupon scenario include... cleaning supplies, snacks, seasonal decor and candy, batteries, toothpaste and toothbrushes, kids activity books, loads of kids craft supplies, picture frames etc. Depending on your particular store in your area they may differ on their selection.
The Second place to look when I do not have a coupon is to the "store brands". Now there are some that are no good, in my personal opinion I do not like generic or "store brand" sodas. But otherwise they have turned out really well. The stores with the best selections of good quality generics include Walmart and Martins/Giant and CVS. I have not had a bad experience with any of their items and believe me, there have been times where my whole kart has been a sea of store brand options.
And my third option is SAV A LOT discount grocery store. They have some great grocery items at great prices however I do not like most of their generics unless it is shredded cheese or milk. The best things to look for here are meats, produce and frozens. If you go to www.Sav-A-Lot.com you can view their store circular and browse their coupons. They offer both store and manufacturers coupons so the manufacturer coupons do not have to be used at Sav A Lot, they can be used anywhere.
So the next time you find yourself looking for a deal with no coupons in hand you know what to do! Happy Sassy Shopping!

How to make the most out of your "sassy" trips to CVS!

So through my regular websites I wander and of course Kitty from www.coupondivas.com has the answers I have been looking for! Thank you KITTY!! She put up a shopping example with the current pampers sale at CVS. She showed how when you buy a pack you get 3 xtra care bucks back with the purchase of pampers this week for 8.97. Well what I didn't know, but have suspected since my last trip, was that if you pay for say three packs seperately they begin to pay for themselves!! YAY If you pay for them all together you only get the first 3.00 bucks back per one purchase, so pay for them seperate (3 item limit), and put your "bucks" towards the next pack. When I bought herbal essences last week at such a great deal plus all my coupons I wondered why I only got back one "buck" when I had bought four HE items. Now I know why thanks to KITTY at www.coupondivas.com.

Kellogs savings at K mart!!

Hey all!! I took advantage of the Kellogg's cereal and pop tarts sale at K mart today. Both cereal and big box of pop tarts were on sale for 1.88. I had a coupon for 1.00 off when you buy two boxes of pop tarts and 1.00 off when you buy two boxes of Kellogg's cereal! The cereal coupon I had from last weekends paper and the pop tart coupon was from the coupons at www.Target.com. This may seem weird I know but, Target offers both exclusive Target coupons and manufacturer's coupons. So as long as it isn't exclusive to Target you can use them anywhere. I also used a cat food coupon ,from the target website, at Martin's because they had my cat food on sale for 3.89 and with a 1.00 off, I got it for 2.89. Happy Sassy shopping to you!!

**Frugal sweets**

I had .37 cent buttermilk biscuits from SAV A LOT. I broke them into a few pieces tossed them in two tablespoons of brown sugar, just enough to dust each piece and put them in a loaf pan on 350 degrees until golden brown. Then add powdered sugar icing. 3 tbsps of powdered sugar, a dash of vanilla and a tbsp. of milk. mix until the consistancy you like. For example if you want it more runny add a bit of milk, if you want it more goey add more powdered sugar etc. enjoy*
